MICRONET International College (MIC) recently welcomed the new October 2017 intake to a two-day orientation programme and open day at the Micronet Jerudong Campus.
The programme began with briefing sessions conducted by MIC administrative staff specifically for the parents and guardians of the new students to inform them with various topics such as the college’s rules and regulations, courses (Pearson BTEC, SQA, NCC Education), including academic assessments and the students’ timetable.
The new students were also briefed on the courses they pursue at MIC along with the agenda of the entire orientation programme.
Several competitions such as MIC Masterchef, Battle of the Brush, MIC Got Talent and MIC Next Top Model (Season 2) where students were given the platforms to showcase their talents were also held. Current students also organised a haunted house and carnival games. Club representatives also encouraged new students to register for their preferred ECA activities.
To promote team spirit among the new students, they were brought to the Tasek Lama Recreational Park on the second day of the orientation programme.
Students participated in numerous team-building activities that required both trust and effective communication organised by student council members and student volunteers.
Sharon Chin, the General Manager of MIC presented prizes including hampers and trophies to winners at the closing of the programme.
Sharon Chin also presented merit awards to students who achieved top academic performance in the previous semester.
