Secondary Five students from seven schools paid Micronet International College in Gadong a visit last week. The students are from Sekolah Menengah Pengiran Anak Putri Hjh Masna, Sekolah Menengah Sayyidina Hasan, Sekolah Menengah SMJA, Maktab SOAS, Sekolah Menengah Berakas, Sekolah Menengah Lambak Kiri and Sekolah Menengah Sultan Sharif Ali.
The purpose of the field trip is to acknowledge the Secondary Five students the options they have to further their studies after sitting their GCE ‘O’ Level examinations. This trip is also proposed to familiarize the students with the courses Micronet International College offers. |

| During the field trip, Orellie Fe Roxas, the College lecturer and Ehra Hussin, the Sales and Marketing Executive, accompanied the students from their respective schools to Micronet College. During the journey, some fun activities were organized for the students. This believed has helped in building rapport among the students and the College staff. |

As a complimentary, the students were given a workshop on Microsoft FrontPage 2003 where they learnt to make their own webpage from scratch. They were given hands-on training using the computers individually in one of the College computer laboratories. The workshop was run by Orellie Fe Roxas.
Mr Johnny Lim, a teacher from Sekolah Menengah Berakas who joined along the trip said, “The students gained a lot from this field trip as now they know there is a computer school in Brunei in which they can go to if they want to advance their computer skills. Other than that, this field trip lets them know the different channel they can take after taking their ‘O’ Level Exams”. |

After the FrontPage session, a briefing about the College courses was presented by Ehra Hussin. In this session, the students were brief about Micronet International College in depth. It was followed by questions and answers session for the students as well as the teachers.
Micronet College has offered NCC Education for over 15 years in which the International Diploma in Computer Studies (IDCS) was accredited by Ministry of Education in the year 1993. The minimum requirement for the IDCS course is 4 GCE ‘O’ Level or equivalence. By passing this course, one can be advanced to Degree courses in any countries given that NCC Education is recognized worldwide. This course has been accredited by Ministry of Education as a National Diploma (ND) course.
Other than that, they also offer NCC Education International Advanced Diploma in Computer Studies (IADCS) in which the minimum requirement is 1 GCE ‘A’ Level or National Diploma or equivalence.
The College held a graduation ceremony last March where over 70 students were awarded certificates for both NCC Education International Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Computer Studies. It was a grand event held at the Empire Hotel and Country Club. Apart from that, the College also held a few big events for its staff and the current students, such as, Micronet Gala Night last December in conjunction with its 19th Anniversary of establishment. |

A tour around the college was then conducted after the briefing. The students witnessed the various facilities available in the College. They also experienced the contemporary atmosphere the College can offer.
To sum up the event and for commemoration, group photos with Micronet International College General Manager, Ms Sharon Chin, were also taken before the students leave for their respective schools. |

| Overall, it was a successful event and students from the different schools found the trip to be educated and at the same time enjoyable. |
